Before my son was born I went through a huge makeup-loving phase. I would spend every weekend stopping by the Ulta near my house, looking for new makeup products I wanted to try. But after I had a baby, makeup became one of the last things on my mind. Here are some of my Ulta & Sephora Favorites. These are all products that I think are worth the money.
*Disclaimer*
Everyone has a different skin type. Everyone has different preferences on their makeup/skin care. These are simply my recommendations that I think are worth the money to try. I would never recommend any skincare/makeup product to anyone because I don’t know your skin type. What works for others doesn’t always work for me, and vice versa. These are the products that I think are worth the money for MY skin type and products that I use on myself*
Sol De Janeiro body wash and cream $26.00 – $48.00
One of the few products I buy at Sephora is this body wash and body cream. I never understood why this lotion was raved about as much as it was, until I went into the store and tried the sample. It reminds me of a Hawaii vacation with hints of coconut. I purchased the sample size to make sure I liked it before purchasing the full size. Shortly after going back to purchase the full size I purchased the same scent in the body wash. I don’t think I will ever use another body wash in the summer.
Tatcha Water Cream & Luminous Dewy Skin Mist $20.00 – $82.00 (depending on the size)
Tatcha is a pretty expensive brand so I have not used all of their products, but I do absolutely love these 2 items. The dewy skin mist truly does exactly what it says – spray it on after your makeup and it gives my skin the most perfect dewy look. And the water cream? *Chefs kiss*. It is so moisturizing and cooling on my skin. Unfortunately it is not something I buy all the time, because I think Neutrogena has a great dupe (here) which is much more affordable. But I do think this product is great for my skin and have no problem splurging on it every now and then when I want to switch it up.
Ulta carries almost every brand that I need. If Ulta carried Tatcha and Sol De Janeiro, I don’t think I would have to step foot in a Sephora ever again.
Urban Decay Hydromania Tinted Hydrator Foundation $29.00
A most recent find that I am loving is this Urban Decay Foundation. It is light and thin, but has a subtle coverage filled with a glow. It’s very lightweight on my skin and I think it has a nice smell to it. It’s perfect for the summer, and if you are looking for something light weight – this might be something you want to try.
One main reason why I love Ulta is because they carry drugstore brands. This L’oreal Lumi Glotion is one of my new favorite products that I’ve found in the last few months. I apply this to my face before my foundation to help give more of a dewy highlighted look.
Morphe Continuing Setting Mist $16.00
This setting spray is affordable and a perfect dupe for the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray. But if I’m trying to save a little money, this Morphe setting spray does the exact same thing. I also enjoy that this Morphe spray is more of a mist when you are spraying it on your face.
Tula Products $14.00-$82.00 (depending on size and product)
I have an entire drawer full of Tula Skincare products. A lot of their products are great. I love the packaging, and they have done wonders for my skin. I also love that they have sample sizes that you can purchase before buying the full size. The foam cleanser, the eye balm, the night cream, the toner, and the serum drops are some of my favorites. Unfortunately I did not like their body lotion and I’m not a huge fan of their exfoliator scrubs. But overall, I’m definitely a big fan of tula.
IGK Dry Shampoo, Texture Spray and Detangler $16.00-$29.00
I’m a huge fan of IGK hair products. I don’t do much with my hair because it is usually in a ponytail at work and during the summer months because my hair is so thick. Their First Class Dry Shampoo is the best I have ever tried (and I’ve tried a lot). The smell is my absolute favorite and it doesn’t leave a residue in my hair. I also love their detangling spray and their texture spray. I think the scents of their products alone are absolutely fantastic. And there’s a reason why their beach texture spray is ALWAYS sold out.
L’anza shampoo and conditioner $32.00
This is the only conditioner and shampoo I’ve tried that doesn’t make my hair more tangly than it already is. I don’t think I’ll ever buy another shampoo or conditioner. The smell is also 100%
IYKYK. My hair cannot live without this brush. With the amount of hair that I have along with the thickness, this brush is an absolute lifesaver.
These are just some of my all-time favorite products that I continue to re-purchase at Ulta or Sephora.
They can all be found on my LikeToKnowIt page or the Shop My Instagram Section of my blog
I said goodbye to my beauty blender and real techniques sponges as soon as I tried these sponges from Amazon. 5 come in a pack for the price of 1 real technique sponge. They provide me with the same exact makeup application as a beauty blender, but for way cheaper! I buy a new pack every few months from Amazon and will continue to purchase this product until they discontinue it (which I pray they never do!) There’s a reason why these have 5 starts on Amazon
These are only some of my Ulta and Sephora Favorites. I couldn’t possibly list all of my product favorites in one blog post. I will continue to share many more of my Ulta and Sephora favorites!
