Reminders My Therapist Gives Me For The Hard Days

I’ve ranted on and on in various blog posts about how much I love my therapist. It’s been well over a year and a half since I’ve started going to therapy. In that amount of time I’ve seen so much growth in myself that I could never be able to put into words. But the truth is, there are still hard days. Here Are The Reminders My Therapist Gives Me For The Hard Days

Be Kind To Yourself

This is so much easier said than done. We will always be our own worst critic. But it’s important to practice being kind to yourself. 

Focus on what you can control

Focusing on what you can’t will do nothing but bring more anxiety and fear.

Your Feelings are valid and normal

Even if you may feel like your feelings are crazy, your feelings are always valid and normal. 

Just Because You Think It, Doesn’t Mean It’s True

It’s easy to convince ourselves that our feelings are true. Just because your feelings are valid and normal, doesn’t necessarily make them true. They both can exist. Feelings are normal and valid, but that doesn’t always mean they are true. 

It’s Doesn’t Have To Be All Or Nothing

It doesn’t have to be an all or nothing. There is a happy medium filled with balance, you just have to work on finding it. 

Focus On You

Even though you may be the biggest empath on this earth, it’s important to practice focusing on you and no one else.  

These are the quick reminders my therapist gives me for the hard days. Because the truth is, I still have plenty of those. And somedays I forget just how far I’ve come on my journey. There will always be hard days ahead, but what’s important is reminding yourself of just how far you’ve come, and continue to practice what’s gotten you here in the first place.
