One of my yearly goals for 2023 was to get into reading. Last year I asked for a Kindle For Christmas and as much as I wanted to get into reading again, I had no idea where to start. Never did I imagine that I could say I’ve read 18 books in the last 2 months. I finally rediscovered the joy of reading, and here are the 18 books that I’ve read.
The first book I chose to read was Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s stone. I began reading while on vacation in the Bahamas because there’s nothing more relaxing than laying by the pool with a cold drink in your hand and a good book. I love the Harry Potter Movies and I had always heard the books were even better. I knew the book would be easy to follow and I had hoped it would help create a new hobby.
Although I gave up reading for a few months after vacation, it wasn’t until I came across BookTok on Tik Tok where I found recommendations for Freida McFadden Books. I had never read a psychological thriller, but I assumed that it would be a good option because of my love for Dateline and 48 Hours. Since then, I have read 13 Freida McFadden books and I couldn’t be more obsessed with psychological thrillers. I don’t know if I will ever be able to find a book that will capture my attention unless its a psychological thriller.
Freida McFadden books are so easy to read and I think are a great start if you want to get into psychological thrillers but don’t quite know where to start. They are usually short and will capture your attention almost immediately.

My goal for 2024 is to compile a list of 50 books that I want to read and see how many I can get through. For someone who started 2023 as someone who could never finish a book, this goal does seem a little extreme. But I know if I can find psychological thrillers that capture my attention I know I can easily knock out 50 books by the end of 2024.
