I’m definitely not someone who reads every day. I’m super picky with books I enjoy reading and if my attention isn’t caught within the first few pages, I will never pick up that book again. But recently I received a Kindle Paperwhite, and I am super excited to start using it. I’m hopeful that it will stop my endless social media scrolling when I’m bored. So here are the first books I’m downloading on My Kindle.
By: Shaun T
This is the only book I’ve read multiple times cover to cover. If I could meet anyone in the world, it would without a doubt be Shaun T. This book is amazing in so many ways and I would always recommend this book to someone who might want to start dipping into personal development. This book is motivating, emotional, and gives a ton of inspiration.
By: Brene Brown
Brene Brown was the first ‘author’ my therapist told me about. He first put me on to her Ted Talk, and I immediately ordered this book. “Brené Brown offers a powerful new vision that encourages us to dare greatly: to embrace vulnerability and imperfection, to live wholeheartedly, and to courageously engage in our lives. Every day we experience the uncertainty, risks, and emotional exposure that define what it means to be vulnerable, or to dare greatly” (Powell.com)
By: Jon Kabat-Zinn
This is the most recent book that my therapist recommended to me. So far, he’s been right on the money recommending the right books I need in the right moment. I haven’t had any experience with practicing mindfulness, but I’m hopeful that this big will help point me in the right direction. “No matter how busy you are, find quiet reflective moments in your life—and reduce your stress levels drastically—with this classic bestselling guide from a mindfulness expert” – (Google Books)

If you’ve seen Colleen Hoover books taking over the internet within the last few months, I’m sure you’ve seen this book as well. I have no other interest in this book than just what people have been sharing online. Supposedly it’s a great book, so we’re going to give it a shot, even though this usually isn’t the type of story I’m interested in. “In Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score, Naomi Witt never thought she’d wear the moniker of Runaway Bride, but here we are. After a bad couple of days and an even worse welcome to the small town of Knockemout, Virginia, she’s now seriously rethinking her life choices. And her loyalty to her (evil) twin sister Tina” (Harlequinjunkie.com)
By: J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter books shouldn’t even need an explanation. I love Harry Potter, but I have never read one page of any of the books. They are super long and I think one Harry Potter Book will take me a few months to read (mom life), but I am super interested to see how the books compare to the movies.

This is another book that I’ve heard great things about. I’m definitely wanting to try new books that aren’t personal development related or books I’ve already seen the movies of. So The Perfect Marriage and Things We Never Got Over I think will be great options. “Kelly is found brutally stabbed to death and now Sarah must take on her hardest case yet, defending her own husband, a man accused of murdering his mistress. The Perfect Marriage is a juicy, twisty, and utterly addictive thriller that will keep you reading all night long” (HowDidThatBookEnd.com)
