Changes You Can Make To Your Routine For The Fall Season

Unfortunately for me, the colder months are coming. And if you are anything like me, it’s time to re-evaluate your routine. Going into a new season, it’s important to find what’s working for you and what needs changed. Whatever you can identify in your routine that isn’t really working for you right now it’s time for a change. This could be inconsistent sleep, your workouts, your diet, and even your beauty routine. Here are some changes you can make to your routine for the fall season.

Try new workouts

It’s about this time of year when I find myself struggling for a change with my fitness. I find a good routine and stick with it all summer long, but as the days get shorter and weather gets cooler, there’s just something that needs a change. Being unmotivated in the gym can be a sign to make a change. Maybe try a new workout split, or sign up for a new class. If you’ve been lifting weights maybe try some cardio or HIIT.

Add/Remove in your skincare routine

Going into the fall/winter season it’s more important than ever to pay attention to your skin. Your skin is probably going to be a lot more dry during this time of year, so try switching up some products in your beauty routine. Swap your current moisturizer for a thicker version, and add in a lip moisturizer and an eye cream. Our skin doesn’t like sudden transitions, so start adding in a few products to start adding more hydration into your skin.

Add in some vitamin C

Vitamin C is one of the major vitamins you will need for the winter season. It helps boost your immune system which will help you appropriately fight against cold and flu. VItamin C will help strengthen your immune system which I think we all want this time of year.

Declutter

I think decluttering should be completed before every new season. It gives you a chance to organize and throw away any unnecessary items that you’ve found to be useless. Decluttering can be a huge help in boosting your mood and decreasing your overall stress.

Add in more ‘season-appropriate’ foods

There are so many fall recipes I love to make this time of year. Chili, soup, and recipes with apples and butternut squash just to name a few. Fall produce will help you keep your body balanced going into this new season. Try to incorporate apples, pumpkin, squash, and other fall spices such as cinnamon, cumin and ginger. Here are a few of my favorite recipes for fall that I like to make every year.

Reassess your sleep routine

Fall and winter mean shorter days. Which can sometimes mean less sleep for all of us. Try taking a look at your daily routine for the week and see how much beauty sleep you are actually getting. Having a consistent sleep schedule can do wonderful things for our mood and productivity. If you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, maybe it’s time to try incorporating some melatonin or CBD sleep vitamins into your routine.

I’ll be the first to admit that I hate the cold weather. Despite Fall and Christmas being my favorite time of the year, I am absolutely miserable when the colder weather comes around. Despite my hatred for the upcoming cooler months, I know how important it is to switch up my routine when I am feeling stuck. Making some changes going into the fall season is a definite non-negotiable for me, and it can help me get myself back on track to my daily routine.
