This past year was the LONGEST and hardest year of my life. So many challenges physically and mentally, and there were plenty of days I really struggled to make it through. Despite the craziness that 2020 brought, my 27th year was filled with so many amazing memories and new beginnings that I never anticipated. I compiled a list of 27 things I learned in my 27th year, and I definitely will be doing this again for years to come. Cheers to year 28!
27 Things I learned In My 27th Year
- Find something you love and pursue it
- Being kind to people is the best thing you could ever do
- Be present and enjoy the moment, even if it’s not a positive one
- Life really is short. Do something every day that you love

- It’s OKAY to miss a workout because you don’t feel like it
- Being “healthy” doesn’t just mean physically. Mental health is a priority too
- Find something you are passionate about and never let that go
- Listen to your gut when something doesn’t feel right
- Just listen, it will make you more compassionate
- Work as hard as you possibly can at the job that you have
- Stop comparing yourself to other girls on the internet
- Food tastes better than skinny feels. Eat your favorite ice cream.
- Music really can heal a bad day
- Stop doing things you don’t enjoy
- Put yourself out there even if you’re terrified
- Some people really don’t have good intentions
- You will get through the hard moments
- Relationships/Friendships change and that’s okay
- People are placed in your life for a reason
- Just write it out
- Acknowledge your weaknesses and work to improve them
- Be mindful of the company you keep
- Social Media is toxic
- Don’t follow anyone else’s timeline
- Take the time you need to fill your cup. Don’t let it run empty
- Don’t underestimate yourself. You can do all the things.
